The Laboy Glass 3 Way Distilling Thermometer Adapter is designed to provide a vacuum-tight seal for a plain thermometer at the top using a compression cap.
It features two inner joints at the bottom and side, both angled at 75 degrees. The bottom joint is typically used to connect to a distilling column for fractionation distillation or a distilling flask for steam or vacuum distillation. The side joint can be used to connect a Liebig or West condenser for water in and out when the temperature is below 150 degrees Celsius. If the temperature exceeds 150 degrees Celsius, it is advisable to connect an air condenser.
This adapter also includes a compression cap and an O-ring that fits into the threaded opening at the top, allowing for the accommodation of a thermometer or bleeding tube.

As a result, it can be safely heated directly over an open flame and can withstand the typical thermal variations experienced in various chemistry processes, including heating and cooling.

For instance, an adapter with a 14/20 male joint will fit into a 14/35 flask.
